Client Day in Central London with 11 Archer and JPC by Samsic

One room in Central London, three businesses and a shared belief that leadership is what decides how a team performs under pressure.

On 5 October 2026, HDB Services came together with JPC by Samsic and 11 Archer for a client day in Central London. Under the banner Elevating Performance, Engineering Leadership, we welcomed a full room of clients and partners for a programme of talks, conversation and Q&A. Watch the highlights below.

Why we ran a client day

Earlier this year we announced our strategic partnership with 11 Archer, the leadership development organisation founded by veterans of the British Special Forces, alongside JPC by Samsic. Facilities management is a people business, and the buildings we look after are only as well maintained as the teams we put into them. The client day was a chance to share that thinking directly with the people we work for.

Lessons from the front line

11 Archer's Aldo Kane and Jason "Foxy" Fox led the sessions. The talks covered V.U.C.A., working in conditions that are volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous, and Foxy's session on Pressure, Purpose, Performance. The room also heard the story of the Battle of Danny Boy in Iraq, where 11 Archer co-founder Brian Wood MC earned the Military Cross.

Other sessions looked at the 10 character traits of exceptional leaders, including integrity, courage, humility and self-control, and at why silence is an operational risk. Each one came back to the same point. How people lead and speak up when things get difficult has a direct effect on the results a team delivers.

Questions from the floor

The day closed with a Q&A panel, giving guests the chance to put their own questions to the speakers. Our Operations Director, Chris Fry, also spoke on camera about the day, and you can hear from him in the video above.
